Hembury Books is on a mission to get manuscripts out of drawers in Australian households and into the hands of readers.
I have been astounded by the talent that’s come across my desk this past year.

Gay Lynch is about to publish a YA novel called Harm None that was shortlisted for the Adelaide Unpublished Manuscript Prize in 2004 – but she could not obtain a publishing deal for it.
JK Bruce has completed four novels and we are publishing her first in May – it’s called into The Dying Forest and it’s an amazing dystopian YA thriller set in Gippsland.
If your book has been rejected, it’s highly unlikely that there’s anything wrong with the book. The problem is the market. The publishing industry is struggling and commissioning new authors is getting as rare as hen’s teeth.

I had a lot of rejections from literary agents and publishers before I self-published my two memoirs, but this line about putting it away and forgetting it hurt the most. I cried!

If you would like to publish your book, please get in touch – we would love to get your author career started. jess@hemburybooks.com
